Your Control4 dealer is gone.
Out of business, retired, or just stopped answering. Your lights, doors and music still work — until the day they don't, and there's nobody to call. We take those systems over, remotely.
Or call a real person: (734) 231-1940
Any of this sound familiar?
Your dealer went out of business, retired, or simply stopped returning calls.
You bought the house with the system already in it, and you have no idea who installed it.
You called other dealers and they want a full system takeover — plus a new controller you don't need.
You were quoted thousands just to move to a newer OS version.
Your app stopped working after a phone or router change, and nobody can re-link it.
You bought a used controller and every local dealer refuses to touch second-hand equipment.
One keypad, one scene, one thermostat is wrong — and no dealer will drive out for a job that small.
You want to add something simple and have been waiting months for someone to call you back.
Why nobody will help you
It isn't you, and it isn't personal. Control4 is sold and serviced only through authorized dealers. Every system has a dealer of record — and the software that changes how your home behaves, Composer Pro, is licensed to dealers, not owners. When your dealer stops trading, the system keeps running exactly as programmed and becomes effectively frozen.
Then there's the part most owners run into next: a dealer who would help usually has to be physically on your network to do it. That's why the answer to "can someone just do this remotely?" is so often no — not because the work is hard, but because there's no way in.
And so the quotes come back the way they do. A full system takeover. A new controller when your old one is fine. Thousands of dollars to move an OS version, or a minimum charge to drive out for twenty minutes of work. Plenty of dealers simply decline a small job on someone else's system, and they're not wrong to — it's a bad hour for them.
We built the way in. That's the whole company.
What taking over your system looks like
- 1
Tell us what you have
A short intake, or just talk to us in chat. Model of controller, what OS it's on if you know it, and what's actually bothering you. If you don't know any of that, that's normal — we can find most of it ourselves once we're connected.
- 2
We get a way in
This is the step everyone else stops at. We either ship you a small bridge that plugs into your network at no charge, or set you up with a managed router if you'd rather have one. Either way we get a secure connection to your system without anyone driving to your house.
- 3
You see a quote before anything happens
Itemized, with published prices, and it expires in 90 days rather than pressuring you. Nothing is charged until you accept, and software work is only charged if it actually succeeds.
- 4
We back the system up first — every time
A full copy of your project is taken and stored before a single change is made. If anything goes sideways, your house goes back exactly the way it was. This is not optional and it is not an upsell.
- 5
The work runs, and you watch it
OS upgrades, programming changes, re-linking your app. You can watch the steps stream live as they happen rather than wondering what we're doing in there.
- 6
You have a dealer again
We become your dealer of record. Optional monitoring watches the system nightly from $9/mo and tells you about dead batteries and offline gear before you notice them.
What it costs
Published prices, not a "call us for a consultation." You see the itemized quote before anything is charged.
OS upgrade
Move your system up to a current, supported Control4 OS — backed up first, verified after. Free when you buy hardware through us.
Programming
Fix a keypad, change a scene, re-link the app, add a device. Priced per item, so you pay for the job and not for a truck.
Monitoring
Nightly automated health checks on the whole system. Optional, cancel whenever, and never required to have work done.
Buying hardware through us? The OS upgrade is free — we take the $129 back off the quote.
Who you're actually letting in
That question deserves a straight answer, because you're being asked to let a stranger reach into the system that runs your house.
Ixome is built and run by Vince Marble — a Lutron dealer since 1999 and one of the first three dealers Control4 ever signed, with installed projects dating back to 2005. Not a startup that discovered smart homes last year. An authorized dealer who has been doing this work for twenty-five years and got tired of watching good systems get stranded.
When we take your system on, we become your dealer of record. That's a real, registered relationship with Control4 — the same standing your original dealer had.
What we'll tell you up front
Older controllers have a ceiling
An HC-800 or similar can only climb so far before the hardware itself is the limit. We'll tell you exactly where yours stops and what replacing it would actually buy you — including when the honest answer is "nothing, stay where you are."
We need a way to reach your system
No connection, no remote work — by anyone, not just us. The bridge is free and plugs in behind your router; a managed router is the nicer option if you want one. If neither is possible at your house, we'll say so.
Some jobs still need hands on site
Anything involving wiring, mounting, a dead device or a physical install needs a person in the room. We can plan it, quote it and program around it, but we won't pretend a cable can be replaced over the internet.
You keep your own system
We don't hold your project hostage. Your backup is yours, and if you ever want to move to another dealer we hand it over. That is deliberately the opposite of how you probably got here.
Questions owners actually ask
Can this really be done without anyone coming to my house?+
For software work, yes — OS upgrades, programming changes, app re-linking, adding drivers. That's the whole point of the bridge: it gives us a secure connection to your system so we can work as if we were standing in your equipment rack. Physical problems still need a physical visit.
Is my system too old?+
Usually not. Very old systems often need to climb in stages rather than jumping straight to the newest version, and we handle that ordering for you — skipping steps is how people break their programming. If your controller genuinely can't go any further, we'll tell you that instead of selling you an upgrade that won't land.
What happens to my existing programming?+
It comes with you. We take a complete backup of your project before touching anything, and the upgrade carries your rooms, scenes and keypads across. Your house should behave exactly as it did, on a newer, supported version.
I bought a used controller. Will you work with it?+
Yes. Second-hand Control4 hardware needs to be registered to a dealer account before it will do anything useful, which is why local dealers so often decline it. Registering and programming it is normal work for us, not a special case.
Do I have to buy a subscription?+
No. One-off work is one-off work. Monitoring is a separate, optional $9/mo product and you can have your OS upgraded or your keypad fixed without it.
What if it goes wrong?+
We back your project up before we start, so the fallback is putting your system back the way it was. Software work is charged only when it actually succeeds — if an upgrade doesn't complete, you're not billed for it.
Do you work on Lutron too?+
Yes. HomeWorks and RadioRA systems have the same orphaning problem, and Lutron is where the 25 years started — dealer since 1999.
Where are you located?+
Southeast Michigan — Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Livingston, Genesee and Washtenaw counties for anything needing hands on site. The remote work has no geography; the systems we service are all over.
Tell us what's broken.
Describe your system and what's wrong with it. You'll get an itemized quote with real prices on it — and if we can't help, we'll say so and tell you who can.
